About ANCESTRY OF THE HENDERSONS & CONNECTED FAMILIES
Please sign in to see more.
Hi everyone. I would like to dedicate this web site to the memory of my eldest son, Andrew William HENDERSON, who died on 12th April, 2008, aged 43 years and my beautiful wife Catherine Irene HENDERSON, who died aged 69 years on 12th January, 2013. Both died after a two year fight against cancer. They will always be in the minds of all our family, who loved them both dearly. We will all treasure the fond memories we have of them both.

I am the William Telfer HENDERSON who features on this website.I was born in the little mining village of Palmersville, just 5 miles north east of Newcastle upon Tyne. A 'Geordie' boy and proud of it !!

I think that everyone who is interested in genealogy has wished the same thing, that is that they could have discussed in more detail what their parents, grand parents and even great grandparents remembered about their family, whilst they were still alive to tell what they knew. I am no exception. How I wish I could talk to my grandparents right now..........

Alas, that is not possible, but this site is my attempt to leave something for my grandchildren and great grandchildren, which may prevent them from having the same regrets as I do. Even if they are not interested at the moment, I hope to leave them as much information as I can about those who went before them.

This site is constantly under construction. It does not just contain our immediate relatives, but wherever possible, I have traced the lineage of connected families, as the title of the web site indicates.

Please feel free to explore it and if we share any common ancestry, or if it is of any other interest to you in whatever way, please either contact me by e mail or put any comment you wish in my Guest Book.

Just for the information of visitors, the names highlighted in red are the direct ancestors of my grand daughters, Alice Jane Henderson and Jenny Henderson, whilst those in green are the ancestors of my grandson Alexander Iain Henderson and grand daughter, Amelia Joy Henderson.

Those names highlighted in Yellow are the descendants of Robson WALTON, who according to all censuses, was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1806. Those highlighted in Blue, the descendants of Thomas MADDOX, born 1766 in Fort George, near Boston, in America. These are the main two ' Brick Walls ' I have hit whilst doing my research. Not the only two by any means, but two of my major direct line families, which I would dearly love to explore further. Any help would be appreciated.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
